Connect Riplo to Claude or ChatGPT

Riplo runs a remote MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant can build, edit and review your decks. Setup is one address and your Riplo sign-in: nothing to install, no API key.

Claude Desktop and Web

Custom connectors work on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Free plans allow one custom connector.

  1. Add a custom connector
    Open Customize → Connectors (opens in a new tab), click Add and choose Add custom connector. On Team or Enterprise, find Riplo Slides, click Connect and go to step 4. If it is missing, ask your IT admin to add it.
  2. Paste the connector address
    Name it Riplo Slides, paste this address and click Continue. Check the authentication settings, then click Continue again.
    https://os.riplo.ai/api/mcp/slides
  3. Set authentication
    Set Authentication to Sign in now and OAuth client to Use Claude's published identity, then click Add.
  4. Sign in
    Sign in with your Riplo account in the window that opens.
  5. Switch it on in a chat
    Open + → Connectors and turn on Riplo Slides. Then ask, for example, “Build a 10-slide client update from these notes” or “Review my pitch deck for consistency.”

For IT admins: On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner adds the connector in Organization settings → Connectors (opens in a new tab) (Add → Custom → Web). Enterprise can also grant this access through a custom role with Manage access to Libraries. Each member then connects with their own Riplo account.

Claude Code

  1. Add the server
    Run this in your terminal. Add --scope user to use it in every project.
    claude mcp add --transport http riplo-slides https://os.riplo.ai/api/mcp/slides
  2. Sign in
    Type /mcp in Claude Code, choose riplo-slides and sign in with your Riplo account.

ChatGPT on the web

ChatGPT on the web supports reading, creating and editing slides through a custom MCP plugin. Access depends on your account and workspace settings. Check OpenAI’s access and setup guide (opens in a new tab).

  1. Add a custom plugin
    Open ChatGPT Plugins (opens in a new tab), click the + button and choose Add custom MCP server. If you cannot see this option in your workspace, ask your IT admin to check your access.
  2. Paste the connector address
    Name it Riplo Slides, paste this address into Server URL under Connection, choose OAuth, review the warning and click Create as a plugin.
    https://os.riplo.ai/api/mcp/slides
  3. Sign in
    Sign in with your Riplo account when ChatGPT asks.
  4. Install it and use it in a chat
    Open the new plugin in your personal or workspace plugins and install it. Start a new chat, type @ and choose Riplo Slides. Then ask it to build or review a deck.

For IT admins: Allow the plugin and its MCP connection for the workspace roles that need it. Check which actions those roles can use; read-only access prevents slide creation and editing. Each member signs in with their Riplo account. See OpenAI’s plugin controls (opens in a new tab).

ChatGPT desktop app

  1. Add the server
    Open Plugins and add an MCP server. Fill in only these fields:
    • Name: Riplo Slides
    • Type: Streamable HTTP
    • URL: the address below
    https://os.riplo.ai/api/mcp/slides
  2. Leave the rest empty and save
    Leave Bearer token env var and Headers empty, then click Save.
  3. Authenticate
    Under MCPs on the same page, click Authenticate next to Riplo Slides and sign in with your Riplo account.

Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and other MCP clients

Any client that supports Streamable HTTP with OAuth.

  1. Add the server
    Paste the address where the client asks for a server URL, or add the config below to its MCP settings. VS Code uses a servers block with "type": "http".
    https://os.riplo.ai/api/mcp/slides
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "riplo-slides": {
          "url": "https://os.riplo.ai/api/mcp/slides"
        }
      }
    }
  2. Sign in
    The client finds the Riplo sign-in on its own. Approve it in the browser window that opens.

What the assistant can reach

  • Only what you can open. The assistant signs in as you and sees the decks you already have access to, nothing more.
  • Deck content goes to your assistant's provider (Anthropic, OpenAI or whoever you chose), under your agreement with them. See the privacy notice and terms of service.
  • Some tools edit your decks. A well-behaved client asks before using them, and version history recovers from an edit you did not want.

Disconnecting

Remove the connector where you added it: Customize → Connectors in Claude, Settings → Apps in ChatGPT, or claude mcp remove riplo-slides in Claude Code. Access stops at once and your decks are untouched.

If a connection fails

Usually the plan: check the plan notes for your client above. If sign-in starts but never finishes, remove and re-add the connector. Still stuck? Email support@riplo.ai with your client and plan. Service status is on the status page.
